Really cool field day at MG Hurd & Sons orchard in New York's Hudson Valley.

➡️ They have a 3.5-acre half circle planted under a 429-ft pivot
➡️ The pivot provides irrigation, frost protection, cooling, and nutritional foliars.
➡️ Trees are planted high density on 5' x 5' spacing (1,742 trees per acre)

Hurd used sap analysis this year to discover and correct nutritional issues, especially a K/Ca imbalance.

Here, they're putting out Pinion, SeaShield, Micro5000 Organic, and calcium.

This crop had several Rebound micronutrients applied. Rebound Molybdenum was applied during smoke from the Canadian wildfires.

Could carbon from the smoke and reproduction signaling from the moly have caused this cluster of flowers?

Minimal potato scab this year at Igl Farms in Antigo, WI!

Senior Agronomist Rachelle Moss hypothesizes that abundant bioavailable manganese is the reason for scab success.

Organic russet potatoes looking good!

Igl Farms and Marbleseed hosted an organic potato field day last week in Antigo, WI, and AEA Senior Agronomist Rachelle Moss took the chance to dig in the dirt.

She saw good association between the roots and soil biology, and a good set for the early fill stage, with good root development and nice root hairs.

Igl farms has been working with AEA for years. This year, these potatoes got an in-furrow solution at planting, including:
✅ Phosphorus
✅ Rejuvenate
✅ HoloCal
✅ MycoGenesis
✅ OP-8
✅ A few micronutrients

Next up, they'll get a tuber fill foliar focused on optimizing photosynthesis and moving sugars into the tubers.

AEA nutrition vs. a control treatment at Igl Farms in Antigo, WI.

AEA's Shelley Katz CCA goes for the world record for fastest nutrient correction foliar using Croptix!

Shelley says: "It’s an indescribable feeling, to have the ability to test my fertility practices immediately, without stepping foot off the farm or waiting."

Croptix is currently available for citrus and cotton.

Shelley notes that she usually makes foliar applications in the evening, but the leaf collection window for Croptix is 7-9am, so for the sake of attempting the world’s fastest nutrient correction foliar, she did it in the morning, and tested the final mix pH and EC to be comfortable using that mix at 9:37am. Always check your mix pH and EC to avoid burning leaves!
