AEA Agronomist Shelley Katz shares her firsthand experience managing aphids in loquats on her Florida fruit farm.

Shelley's goal is to keep amino acids in a healthy range to prevent them from attracting aphids in the first place.

Here's how she did it:
✅ Spoonfeeding low rates of N frequently
✅ Adding organic matter (from chop & drop cover)
✅ Reducing plant stress, including water stress
✅ Supporting complete protein synthesis with precision nutrition
✅ Treating irrigation water to lower pH and carbonates

Shelley notes that AEA's approach to pest management is more nuanced when protecting a commercial crop: she did it this way to test the principles for herself and show how they work in practice.

"I've been trying to understand what the plants need in terms of nutrition to prevent or to cure any type of issues or ailments that come onto the farm."

Peter Henry is a first-generation farmer who manages a diverse, seven-hectare operation in the mountainous terrain of the Dominican Republic. Peter has found a highly specialized niche market growing traditional African heirloom vegetables and tubers for buyers in the United States and Canada.

Peter focuses heavily on biological soil health and precise nutritional balance instead of conventional chemical applications, and designs custom foliars delivered through a specialized micro-sprinkler system to proactively build plant immunity and suppress heavy tropical disease pressure. He works closely with AEA to run on-farm trials and design sophisticated nutritional programs.

On the Regenerative Agriculture Podcast, John and Peter discuss:

➡️ Managing a complex landscape with different soil profiles on opposite sides of a river.
➡️ Completely avoiding synthetic nitrogen applications because they immediately trigger insect pressure and fungal blight.
➡️ How a trial of AEA’s Pinion successfully eliminated severe bacterial leaf spot and stem issues on highly susceptible heirloom bell pepper crops
➡️ Designing an innovative micro-sprinkler trellis system to broadcast nutrition and biology over multiple hectares in just over an hour.
➡️ Using AEA’s Rebound Copper & Rebound Molybdenum to completely reverse visual deficiencies and provide a dramatic greening effect on the farm’s terraced peppers.

Join us for a Virginia vineyard field day!

Senior agronomist (and AEA's vine whisperer) Pedro Rioseco will be leading a FREE morning field day at Laurel Grove Wine Farm.

We'll tackle issues that are top of mind for grape growers:
➡️ understanding the role of nutrition in natural pest and disease resistance.
➡️ helping vines maintain photosynthesis
➡️ aiding consistent fruit ripening.
➡️ strategies to address diseases like powdery and downy mildew with nutrition
➡️ improving vineyard resilience

“AEA made it fun to be a farmer.”

Mike Omeg shares what it's like to work with AEA. Mike is a phenomenal orchardist, and we are proud to work with him and the team at Orchard View Cherries. They grow some of the best cherries we’ve ever eaten.

We wrote a case study on some of Mike's achievements, including:
✅ Eliminating a bacterial canker infestation
✅ 4x yield increase on infected block
✅ $2000 (13%) increase in revenue per acre in a single year on another block from increased fruit size alone

✅ Fewer thrips, less pink root, and nice size in organic onions.
✅ No mildew & increased tonnage on organic spinach.

Dan McClure from near Walla Walla, WA shares successes he’s seen from working with AEA.

The best thing is a precision nutritional foliar informed by sap analysis.

The next best thing is a foliar designed to meet the needs of a crop's growth stage.

We developed simple recipes for fruit and vegetable growers who don’t have sap data.
➡️ Even without guiding data, they’ll get you 80% of the way there.
➡️ They require just 3-5 products.
➡️ By using different ratios of those products throughout the season, they meet the crop's varying nutritional needs at every stage of its growth.

Accelerate™ is a very cost-effective option for cotton growers to increase profitability.

✅ Accelerate provides nutrients to support reproduction
✅ Rates as low as 1 quart per acre (which costs just $6.40), gave a 10X ROI when applied at Pinhead Square in a controlled trial.

Pinhead Square is the best time to apply to get maximum response from a small amount; later applications were still very worthwhile.

"Drastically different," is how Robert Hall Winery's Ryan Domingos described the leaves from their regenerative block.

AEA's CEO Eric Girdler got up close and personal with some of those leaves on a tour last week.

✅ The mature leaves from a regenerative block were thicker and glossier than those from a conventional block.
✅ This was pretty easily seen by the turgidity: the regen leaves stay flat when held, while the conventional leaves bend under their own weight.

Robert Hall Winery has been seeing excellent results on their regenerative blocks, with help from Jordan Lonborg of Coastal Vineyard Care Associates and AEA.

Very useful: 2 cocktails to support critical plant functions.

Accelerate™ supports blossoming.
➡️ It can increase the number of flowers and improve fruit set
➡️ It contains K, Ca, Mn, Mo, + Kelp

PhotoMag™ supports photosynthesis and protein synthesis.
➡️ "Plant Health Pyramid Level 2 in a jug"
➡️ It contains Mg, S, B, Mo, Co

Both help crops cope with abiotic stressors like heat, frost, hail, and pests.
