Building Long Term Capability

The Boeing F-15 Saudi Advanced Aircrew Training Device (AATD) Phase II award is another example of the Kingdom's continued investment in long-term defense capability development.

Beyond hardware and platforms, sustainable readiness depends on advanced training systems, local expertise, knowledge transfer, and the ability to continuously evolve training content and synthetic environments.

These objectives closely align with Saudi Vision 2030 and the growing emphasis on localization and indigenous capability development.

Quantum3D has been honored to contribute to this journey through simulation technologies, database development, and training initiatives that support operational readiness and workforce development.

How do you simulate what has never existed before?

New platforms like REGENT’s Seaglider and Alef flying car concept are challenging traditional definitions of aviation and mobility—and creating new challenges for simulation.

As platforms introduce new operating modes, autonomy and mission scenarios, simulation must go beyond training to support discovery, development, testing and validation.

This is where high-fidelity synthetic environments become critical.
The recent acquisition of Aechelon Technology by Shield AI is another signal of the growing convergence of simulation, synthetic environments and autonomy.

Los Angeles Is Moving From eVTOL Simulation to Real-World Operations

With Archer preparing for its role as the Official Air Taxi Provider of the LA28 Olympic & Paralympic Games, plans for a vertiport at L.A. LIVE with AEG, and Joby advancing its Los Angeles operations, the future of urban air mobility is becoming increasingly tangible.

Joby Aviation is also advancing its plans for Los Angeles operations and vertiport infrastructure.

At Quantum3D, we have been preparing for this transition for years.

In 2025, we demonstrated a high-fidelity eVTOL simulation environment covering a 60 × 20-mile Los Angeles–Irvine corridor, integrating airports, vertiports, routes, aircraft, and the surrounding urban environment.

The goal was more than visualizing an aircraft in a virtual city.
It was creating an environment to explore how AAM operations can be trained, tested, and evaluated before deployment:
• Route and procedure training
• Vertiport approaches and departures
• Airport-to-vertiport operations
• Weather and abnormal scenarios
• Multi-aircraft and infrastructure interactions

As eVTOL moves toward real-world operations, simulation becomes more than a training tool.

It becomes a foundation for operational readiness at scale.
