Degree Controls, Inc. DegreeC is a leader in airflow sensing, monitoring and controlling. DegreeC engineers airflow and delivers solutions.

We develop airflow solutions to the telecommunications, medical, data center, food service, HVAC, laboratory and others where airflow engineering is critical. We make airflow sensors, instruments for measuring airflow, and custom-designed intelligent systems that deliver precise flows of air exactly where it's needed. We do this at chip scale, board level, box scale, room scale and for entire buildings. Our largest application is intelligent cooling systems to address the heat generated by densely packed electronics for a variety of industries...but we also offer airflow-based solutions for non-thermal applications - where precise measurement and control of the quantity and/or direction of airflow is critical.

Multipoint Sensing Saves Time & Avoids Measurement Inaccuracies

Using the single point measurement approach to measure airflow at multiple points is loads of work and may result in measurement inaccuracies. R&D groups turn to Degree Controls for multipoint sensing and data acquisition solutions when testing conditions require numerous, simultaneous, measurement locations. °C SPARs and °C […]

Airflow and Air Filtration for Safer Indoor Air
HEPA (high efficiency particulate air) filters are air filters designed to stop or capture very small particulates from an air stream at a highly effective rate. According to the U.S. Department of Energy, to qualify as HEPA, a filter must remove at least 99.97% of particles when tested with an aerosol with a size of 0.3 microns.

Air Velocity Monitoring for Critical Containment
Engineering controls are used to protect laboratory workers. Examples include exposure control devices (ECDs) such as chemical fume hoods and biosafety cabinets (BSCs), which are ventilated to contain harmful toxins and odors, and safeguard against fume releases into the room. These critical containment cabinets differ in design, and airflow requirements vary as well, according to the application.

Airflow Visualization and Filter Testing for Safe Clean Air
A HEPA filter, high-efficiency particulate air filter, is used to describe a filter that exhibits a minimum efficiency of 99.97% at a test aerosol diameter of 0.3 micrometers, assuring a high level of protection against the transmission of airborne diseases. HEPA filtration is widely applied in laboratory, pharmaceutical, and healthcare environments, as well as in HVAC systems in commercial buildings and industrial facilities.

Balance Data Center Airflow
Data centers continue to be vital to daily operations. The demand for information is high, and businesses thrive on data and internet. Data center cooling is essential and prevents costly downtime and premature equipment failures. Measuring and monitoring data center airflow and temperature is also essential to ensure cooling remains at optimal levels and keep operational costs low through energy efficiency (Note: ASHRAE Standard 90.4 establishes minimum energy efficiency requirements of data centers).
