Friday Career Tip: You don't have to agree with feedback to learn something from it.

Let's face it. Nobody loves hearing that they could have done something better!

Maybe someone questions your approach, points out something you missed, or suggests doing things differently.

Your first reaction? Probably to defend yourself.

And that's understandable!

But here's something worth remembering: Being open to feedback doesn't mean you have to agree with everything someone says.

Sometimes, it just means being willing to consider another perspective.

The next time you receive constructive feedback, try this:

• Pause before reacting. Give yourself time to process what's being said.
• Look for something useful. Even feedback you disagree with might offer a valuable insight.
• Ask questions. Understanding someone's perspective doesn't mean you have to accept it.
• Decide what to do with it. Take what helps you grow and apply it moving forward.

Not all feedback is accurate, fair, or helpful. Learning to recognize the difference is a skill in itself!
