Back at the Nashville Zoo! 🦒🦏

After some long nights and early mornings, we were able to get another project completed.

This project involved removing and relocating two enclosure netting poles, expanding the exhibit by approximately 300 square feet. While that may not sound like much at first, this is a 20-foot-tall enclosure, so the additional space creates a significant improvement for the animals.

In addition to relocating the poles, we excavated and poured reinforced concrete curbs that will serve as the permanent attachment point for the new enclosure netting. This provides a strong, durable foundation built to last for years to come.

• Excavating and removing the existing grass
• Installing a railroad tie border
• Placing and compacting 40 tons of crusher run
• Fine grading for a smooth, clean finish

We’re thankful for the opportunity to improve this commercial roadway by extending the exit, creating a safer and more forgiving turning radius for semi-truck traffic.

The previous layout required drivers to hit the turn perfectly, which led to multiple collisions with the bollards and automatic gate system.

Our crew completed the following:
• Installed 95 linear feet of curb
• Hauled off 10 truckloads of material
• Installed 900 square feet of asphalt
• Installed five 6-inch crash-rated bollards

Another project completed with safety, durability, and long-term performance in mind. We’re grateful for the trust our customers place in us and look forward to the next challenge.

Yet another project knocked out of the park! 🦏

We wrapped up improvements in the rhino exhibit at the Nashville Zoo, building a level sand terrace to help control erosion and water runoff on the challenging terrain.
