Today, August 4, we honor the birthday and memory of Ken Sr., the man whose hard work and vision began the Mack Saw story.
Ken Sr. started the business with a partner in 1959. At the time, the company only manufactured carbide-tipped saw blades. In 1976, he became the sole owner, and his son, Ken Jr., joined him in the family business.
As the industry changed and inexpensive, disposable blades became more common, Ken Sr. and Ken Jr. adapted. Together, they reinvented Mack Saw and built its reputation as a premier sharpening and retipping company.
Following Ken Sr.’s passing, Ken Jr. moved Mack Saw to Lakewood, New Jersey, and proudly continued the legacy his father had started.
Beyond the business, Ken Sr. was a true Southern gentleman and a devoted family man. He worked hard to care for his wife, two sons and daughter, and he was a terrific grandfather. His family was always an important part of the life and legacy he built.
