KORN FERRY

A sophisticated, clean finish starts with the right system and precise field ex*****on.
For this Korn Ferry elevator lobby, Whisperts installed a site fabricated stretch fabric acoustic system, also known as a track system.

The process begins with PVC track installed directly on site to define the layout. Acoustic fiberglass is then fitted within the system, followed by the finish fabric, which is carefully stretched and tucked into the track.

Because the system is built in the field, every line, reveal, corner and transition has to be carefully controlled.

The result is a modern, seamless acoustic finish that feels fully integrated into the architecture.

THE REAL JOBSITE HORROR STORY: LAST MINUTE CHANGES

It starts with one innocent sentence: “Can we make a small change?”

Then the drawings change.
The dimensions change.
The material no longer fits.
The crew is already scheduled.
Another trade has to move something.

And suddenly, that “small change” turns into a very big nightmare. 👻

Last minute changes happen in construction. The key is understanding their impact on materials, scheduling and costs before saying, “No problem.”

Sometimes, the most stressful part of a project isn’t a tight deadline.

NRC - Noise Reduction Coefficient
ONE NUMBER, NOT THE WHOLE STORY

If you work with acoustic materials, you have probably seen the letters NRC. But what do they mean?

NRC stands for Noise Reduction Coefficient. It is a rating used to indicate how much sound a material absorbs.

Simply put: the higher the NRC, the more sound absorption the material provides.

But NRC is only the beginning. Choosing the right acoustic solution also depends on the space, the application and the problem we are trying to solve.

ASTM C423 is the standard used to measure sound absorption in a reverberation room and generate the coefficients used by architects, designers and acoustic consultants. Source: ASTM C423

Precision makes the difference.

For this NYU project, Whisperts installed custom 3D PET acoustic panels featuring a geometric pattern across multiple wall surfaces.

This type of installation requires careful layout and field coordination. Every panel must be positioned so the pattern flows continuously, corners transition cleanly, and cuts around outlets and other wall conditions become part of the finished design.

The transformation speaks for itself: acoustic performance, dimensional texture and a custom architectural finish working together.
