Neighborhood Faves is based entirely on the recommendations and support of local neighbors. We are grateful to our Rhode Island community for the trust, referrals, and thoughtful feedback that make this possible.

📍 This week we had the chance to attend an advanced screening of Weather Hunters at Rhode Island PBS.

From seeing the studio space to the thoughtful learning activities for kids, it was a special experience that highlights the lasting impact of public media.

We proudly support PBS because we believe in the importance of education, storytelling, and access for all families. These are the institutions that shape how our children see the world and help guide the choices they make.

At Newport Solar, our work is rooted in legacy. As the Native American proverb reminds us:
“We do not inherit the Earth from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children.”

Thank you to the incredible team at PBS for all you do. We are honored to be a supporter of your work and your mission to educate and inspire across Rhode Island and beyond.

One of our recent installations was featured in The New York Times and we are honored to have played a small role in this beautiful net zero home in rural Rhode Island. 
Designed by the acclaimed team at WORKac and built to Passive House standards with help from ZeroEnergy Design, this home combines architectural vision, environmental sensitivity, and off grid resilience. Newport Solar designed and installed the solar system that powers the home’s heat pump and supports year round efficiency.

Proud to be part of this community

Still thinking about the Amicus Solar Cooperative Annual Event.

We had the opportunity to attend this inspiring gathering earlier this spring. The collaboration, conversations, and collective wisdom from fellow Amicus members left a lasting impression.

Amicus Solar Cooperative is more than a network. It is a community of independently owned solar companies that share best practices, align on values, and believe in doing what is right for our teams, our customers, and the planet.

We left feeling energized to keep building a company rooted in craftsmanship, purpose, and long-term value.
