Ever wanted to build a combat robot and actually see it fight?

This summer, we’re running our Antweight Combat Robotics Program at growingSTEMS, and it’s exactly what it sounds like—in the best way possible. You’ll build your own 1lb robot, test it, tweak it, and then throw it into the arena to see how it holds up.

Anyone 11+ can join, whether you’ve never built anything before or you’ve already got some experience. We’ll help you figure things out along the way.

You’ll get:
• Your own robot kit
• Time each week to build and improve
• Access to tools and workspace
• Practice matches to dial things in
• A final competition at the end of the summer

It runs June through August on Tuesdays, and it all leads up to a live tournament.

Team Honey Cracked is not just growingSTEMS travel combat robotics team. We also host other programs to encourage new people to get into robotics. Check out what we have to offer this summer:

Antweight combat robotics program:
11 years and older
Starts June 2nd 2026
Program participants will start with one of four robot kits and work with program mentors to modify and improve their very own 1lb combat robot with the season culminating in our Plastic Ant Weight tournament.

Termite weight summer camps:
3rd - 7th grade
Sessions: June 27-28th 2026 , August 15-16th 2026
Competitors will build and decorate their very own Termite Class robot while learning about the strategy behind combat robots!

Edison Robotics Coding Camp
3rd - 8th grade
Sessions: June 13th-14th , August 22-23rd 2026
Students will use Edison robots to explore movement, sensors, sounds, and obstacle detection through fun challenges and creative projects.

Some of team Honey Cracked checked out Motorama robot conflict a few weeks back. Our team took 3 robots in the 12lb category. Jack also entered his 1lb robot WOMP. Shoutout to Cody for 3rd place in the 12lb weight class and Jack for 2nd in 1lb Antweights.

Team Honey Cracked has 3 robots heading into the 2025 NHRL championship this weekend. All the robots are refreshed and ready to go!

We would like to thank for providing the titanium that is used on our robots for this event. Our wedges, armor and top plates are critical parts of the robots and they wouldn't survive without it.

Team Honey Cracked spent yesterday at the October NHRL event. We had an amazing time fighting robots and hanging out with friends. We had a robot in each weight class for this event.

Zom-Bee in the 3lb weight class was driven by Cody Graham. This robot is a treaded be**er bar robot. The robot had a good first showing going 2-2 yesterday.

Honey-fied in the 12lb weight class was driven by Dominic Musolino. This is one strong mid cutter horizontal. Honey-fied went 2-1 for this event.

Deadrise in the 30lb weight class was driven by Joe Copenhaver. A giant vertical spinner that didn't just break the cage once this event, it broke it twice! Deadrise made it to prime time going 3-2 for this event!

We would also like to congratulate our friend for winning the 12lb weight class this event. Amazing job!
