CMC Gas welcomes Jessica Ross of Chatom, Alabama, as its new Director of Economic Development. As a native and long-time resident of Washington County, with over 22 years of experience in local non-profit administration, grant writing, fundraising, and community development, Ross brings with her an extensive knowledge of rural communities within the CMC Gas regional service area. Ross will concentrate her economic development efforts across Washington and Clarke counties but will also be engaged in projects throughout the CMC Gas 6-county service footprint.
Ross holds a PhD in Communication from the University of Alabama, where she is an adjunct instructor, and has concentrated her research on rural community infrastructure and sustainability. Her dedication to community also extends to her tenure as Director of Washington County Public Library, and her service with the Clarke-Washington Electric Membership Co-op and The David Mathews Center for Civic Life, where she promotes civic engagement and community development across Alabama. “I am excited to join the team at CMC Gas,” says Ross. “I look forward to working with rural communities through this new role to make our area of Southwest Alabama a better place to live, work, raise a family, and locate businesses and industry.”
Jess and her husband, Spencer, both grew up in Washington County and have always called Southwest Alabama home. They enjoy traveling for good food and music, exploring in the outdoors, and playing music with friends.
