This week, BJ Muirhead Co., Inc. welcomed more than 50 facility professionals to our Boiler Operations & Maintenance Fundamentals Seminar at the Hilton Garden Inn in Cheektowaga, NY.

The two-day seminar provided in-depth training focused on safe, efficient and reliable boiler operation, giving attendees practical knowledge they can take back to their facilities.

A special thank you to Derek with Cleaver-Brooks and Adrian and Jason with Armstrong for sharing their expertise and helping make the seminar a valuable learning experience.

And, of course, thank you to everyone who attended! We’re proud to provide training opportunities that help boiler room professionals strengthen their knowledge and keep their systems operating safely and efficiently.

Rental support goes beyond boilers.

Our 70,000 PPH rental deaerator arrived on-site at a hospital in Niagara Falls, NY. This brand-new rental unit will provide temporary support while the facility replaces its existing Cleaver-Brooks deaerator with a new system.

For healthcare facilities, maintaining reliable steam production during equipment upgrades is essential. Rental equipment helps provide the flexibility and redundancy needed to keep the boiler plant operating while permanent improvements are underway.

A major boiler upgrade—completed over a weekend to keep production moving.

BJ Muirhead Co., Inc. recently completed a Cleaver-Brooks ProFire® burner conversion and controls modernization on an existing 600 HP Powermaster firetube boiler at a food manufacturing facility in Rochester, NY.

The natural gas-fired, high-pressure steam boiler is an important part of the facility’s production process, making project coordination and turnaround time critical.

The upgrade included:

⚙️ ProFire burner conversion
🖥️ Cleaver-Brooks Hawk controls
⚡ Variable Frequency Drive (VFD)
🎯 Parallel positioning
📊 O₂ trim
🔥 New refractory
🔌 Electrical upgrades

Our team completed the installation and had the boiler operational through the weekend, helping the facility maintain the steam capacity needed for production.

Modern burner and controls upgrades can be a practical way to improve the performance, control and reliability of an existing boiler system while extending the value of the pressure vessel.
