No.

OSHA specifies different minimum illumination levels depending on the construction area and activity.

For example:

💡 3 foot-candles — certain excavation, access, loading, storage, and similar areas

💡 5 foot-candles — general construction areas, corridors, hallways, and exitways

💡 10 foot-candles — construction shops, equipment rooms, and active storerooms

But simply meeting a minimum number doesn't automatically create a well-lit jobsite.

Contractors also need to consider:
