Da’go’teh!

Yesterday we observed National First Responders Day, I want to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude to all the brave men and women who serve on the front lines of our emergencies.
Our communities are kept safe every day by a dedicated network of heroes. We owe so much to our law enforcement officers who stand as our shield against danger, our structural and wildland firefighters who protect our homes and sacred lands, and our EMS providers, EMTs, and paramedics who bring life-saving care in critical moments. We also honor our 911 dispatchers who serve as the calm, guiding voices coordinating every response, game rangers and the search and rescue teams and emergency managers who navigate the toughest conditions to bring our loved ones home.

Every single day, you are sacrificing time with your own families to protect ours. You are the center of our communities, and we are profoundly grateful for your dedication, resilience, and spirit of service.
To all first responders—especially those serving across our tribal nations—thank you for your unwavering commitment. May you always return home safely.

Ahe’yee!

Friday:
"It was a beautiful evening at the San Carlos Youth Pageants as each contestant shared a part of their history and culture. I loved to hear their self introductions being done in the native language. Each contestant wonderfully displayed poise, personality and confidence. Congratulations to all winners of the San Carlos Apache Youth Pageant and may our Creator bless your reign!"

Saturday:
"I set up a booth to hand out goodies at the District II Halloween Trunk or Treat Event in Carrizo. I dressed up as my version of a Jedi as I'm a Star Wars fan! The evening was filled with love and laughter as we watched the kids play games and collect treats. I am also very grateful for the opportunity to serve as a judge for the Halloween costume contest. I would like to thank the Carrizo Community for your hospitality. I had fun with you all."

Ahi'yee!! As we approach Halloween, please be careful and safe.

This past Friday on, October 16, 2026, I attended the Fort Mojave Indian Days festivities at the CA Tribal Village park. The celebration was a beautiful display of resiliency and culture preservation.

My heart is happy to be with the Fort Mojave Indian Tribe as they celebrate their history, culture and most importantly, their community. Each bird song and dancing deeply connected the community and its people.

Thank you to the, Fort Mojave Indian Tribe, for welcoming and embracing me with your beautiful culture!

As always, remember that the world is a beautiful place with you in it. Ahi’yhe!

Da’go’teh! I had an exciting journey to the Fort Mojave Indian Tribe. On Thursday night, I had the opportunity to witness their unique culture at the 50th Annual Fort Mojave Indian Days Royalty Pageant at the Avi Resort and Casino. I love to see how the community unified to support the youth by bird dancing and singing alongside the contestants.

A special recognition to the 2025-2026 Fort Mojave Royalty Court on a successful year of representing your tribe: Trinity Neskahi, Gabriela Rockerfeller, Ella Castillo, and Nathaniel Dick Jr. Congratulations to the newly crowned Fort Mojave Royalty Court: Jonetta Arres, Amerie Garcia, Catalina Kormes and Bentley Richards.
May our Creator bless your journey as you represent your Tribal Nation. I am deeply honored to serve our people alongside you.

As we begin the weekend, I am excited to be among my relatives of the Fort Mojave Indian Tribe.

Da’go’teh! I had the honor of attending the White Mountain Apache Division of Health Women’s Conference in Hon-Dah, Arizona. I was welcomed with hugs, encouragement and congratulations. I enjoyed listening to the keynote speakers about their own personal “healing to thriving” stories. I admired their courage for sharing their personal stories so others know they are not alone in their journey of healing.
On day two of the conference, I had the opportunity along with my 1st Attendant, Priya Simpson, to present our story and share our journey through the Miss Indian Arizona pageant. It was an amazing two day conference and I loved being present with all the women in attendance.

Da'go'teh! Greetings, my name is Shavaughn Titla and I am a proud member of the White Mountain Apache Tribe with deep roots from Cibecue, Arizona. I am the oldest of four siblings and the proud daughter of Hersha G. Titla (Miss Indian Arizona 1995-1996) and the late Dorian Titla. My favorite hobbies are reading, beading, being outdoors and spending time with my family.

I would like to congratulate the newly crowned Miss Indian Arizona court and participants. You all did an amazing job at representing your community and Tribal Nations. I was very honored to share the stage with you and pray that God blesses all your future endeavors.

I would like to personally thank all those who have supported me during my journey to the title of Miss Indian Arizona. I would like to start off with thanking God for this amazing opportunity, my family and the Miss Indian Arizona Association. Thank you to the following individuals who made this journey possible: Tony Alsenay (District 1 Councilman), Ora Henry (District 1 Councilwoman), Gwendena Lee Gatewood, Hershall Sr. & Melissa Gregg, Larry Tolino, Cline Griggs Sr., my family and friends.

This title has been a dream of mine since I was the Miss White Mountain Apache Princess at the age of 10 years old. I am excited, honored and humble to represent the 22 federally recognized Arizona Tribes and look forward to meeting you all. I pray the Lord blesses you and your family with good health and spirit. Once again, thank you all and "Remember, the world is a beautiful place with you in it". Ahi'yee!
