GET TO KNOW THE CRUZES | Part 3: Where It All Started

Every business has a story. Ours started long before there was a Cruz N Carz sign on the building.

Ricky grew up working in his Dad's small auto repair shop, washing cars and cleaning parts through high school.

In 1996, he decided to venture out on his own and opened Rick's Automotive right next door to his Dad's shop.

A few years later, Rick's Automotive became Cruz N Carz.

In this clip, Ricky talks about his beginnings in the auto repair business, how things evolved and how he went from working for his Dad to building something of his own.

Of course, that was all before I came along.

Today, Cruz N Carz has two locations, but getting here wasn't some perfectly executed business plan.

There have been financial struggles, disagreements, sleepless nights, big risks and more than a few moments when we wondered what the heck we'd gotten ourselves into.

And that's the part of the story we want to share.

We're not interested in painting some picture perfect version of our lives. There's enough of that BS on social media already.

This is Get to Know the Cruzes. Raw, unfiltered and occasionally a little ridiculous.

And we're just getting started. 🚗💨❤️

Dark roads mean shorter reaction times. When a deer steps into the road or the car ahead slams on their brakes in rush-hour traffic, your braking system needs to react instantly!

Here's a Pre-Winter Safety Checklist:

Pad Thickness: Ensure you have enough friction material to stop on a dime.
Brake Fluid: Fresh fluid prevents pedal fade under heavy braking.
Tire Grip: Good tread pulls it all together when you hit the pedal hard.

Keep your dark commutes stress-free by paying attention to those items. Drop by Cruz-N-Carz - Ella Street in Pearland, TX, for an inspection today!

GET TO KNOW THE CRUZES | Part 2

In our last video, Ricky talked about how trust isn't something we expect to be given. It's something we have to earn.

In this clip, Trish shares her own experience at Cruz N Carz. What started as a routine oil change turned into a conversation about her brakes, what needed attention and what could wait.

And that's how we believe it should work. Show people what you're finding, explain their options and let them make informed decisions.

We're going to keep sharing clips from our podcasts so you can get to know the people behind Cruz N Carz.

You'll hear more about Ricky and me, how we got started, how we've grown and some of the things we've learned along the way. Both personally and professionally.

Some stories are funny. Some are pretty messy. And some will probably make you wonder how we've managed to stay married AND in business together.

Expect plenty of honesty, a little sarcasm and absolutely no sugarcoating.

Welcome to Get to Know the Cruzes!

GET TO KNOW THE PEOPLE BEHIND CRUZ N CARZ

Trust isn't something we expect. It's something we have to earn.

We're more than a sign on a building or a name on Google. We're real people who live and work in this community and we want you to get to know us.

In this clip, Ricky talks about something that's always been important to us at Cruz N Carz. Building relationships with the people who trust us with their vehicles.

Stop by, grab a cup of coffee and say hello. You don't even have to need car repairs.

We want you to know who's behind the business, who you're handing your keys to and who you can talk to when you have questions.

We don't expect your trust just because we've been around for years. We know we have to keep earning it.

One conversation, one customer and one visit at a time. 🚗💨❤️

Has stepping on your brake pedal felt like squishing a damp sponge? If so, it’s time for a brake fluid flush!

Brake fluid naturally absorbs moisture from the air over time. In cool autumn weather, that trapped water lowers your fluid's boiling point and creates a soft pedal feel. Fresh fluid restores crisp, immediate stopping power! Let the team at Cruz-N-Carz - Ella Street help you out.

Is your dashboard starting to look like a fully carved Jack-o'-Lantern with all those orange and yellow warning symbols? 🎃⚡ Your car isn't trying to spook you for Halloween... its onboard sensors are just sensing the seasonal shift!

Pro Tip: A steady yellow warning light means "schedule a checkup soon." A flashing red light means pull over safely and shut off the engine right away! 🛑 Stop by Cruz-N-Carz - Ella Street for any warning light issues!
