🔴 HOTTEST DAY OF THE YEAR: Chief Meteorologist Tim MIller here as we track dangerous heat headed straight for the Midlands and dangerous heat index for Lowcountry on Monday.
I am forecasting an actual high temperature of 101°F in Columbia. When you factor in the intense humidity, the heat index will feel like a punishing 113°F. Charleston to Hilton Head, the heat index will feel like 118 degrees! This level of heat is dangerous and can quickly cause heat exhaustion or heat stroke if you aren't careful.

☀️ Crucial Safety Tips for Monday: Limit Outdoor Exposure: Avoid heavy outdoor activity during peak afternoon heating (11 AM - 4 PM).

Hydrate Early & Often: Drink plenty of water and electrolytes before you even feel thirsty.

Check On Family & Friends: Make sure family, elderly neighbors, children, and those without reliable AC are staying cool.

Protect Pets: If the pavement is too hot for your hand, it's too hot for their paws. Keep them indoors.
