THIS little tool could save you THOUSANDS on your new HVAC system. 👀
When copper refrigerant lines are brazed, the inside of the tubing gets extremely hot. Without nitrogen flowing through the line, oxygen inside the pipe can react with the hot copper and create copper oxide/scale.
That black buildup can end up circulating through the refrigerant system — potentially contaminating oil, clogging small passages or metering devices, and contributing to premature component problems.
💰 And on a modern heat pump system, a major repair — especially a compressor-related one — can easily turn into a thousands-of-dollars problem.
That’s why at Harborside Heating & Cooling, we flow nitrogen while brazing. It’s one of those details you may never see once the system is installed… but it’s part of doing the job correctly.
The lowest bid and the best installation aren’t always the same thing. 👀
