While these two renderings may look very similar, and they are, they area also slightly different. The brighter image was actually rendered to simulate the sun for this homes location on December 21, 2025 at 1:00 PM, and the darker image is a simulation at 1:00 PM on July 21, 2025. This allows me to ensure that the roof design blocks a high level of heat load in the height of summer, but conversely allows more sunlight to help heat the home in winter months based on the homes geolocation and orientation.

One of the hardest things to help a client with when designing their home is always related to how the position of their home, and the direction it faces will impact the shadows and light during the day. I am happy to say that now I can offer them a service to show how shadows will progress on any given day between set times, or even how it will look on the same day at the same time in different seasons. This is a quick little example of a home facing south on Pensacola Beach showing how the sunlight enters the home over the course of the year.
