🏆 September Production Spotlight: 001 Section A Crew 🏆

Congratulations to the 001 Section A Crew, led by Section Foreman Chris Lyons, on an outstanding month of September.

This crew averaged 438.1 feet per shift, leading the entire mine in production. Just as importantly, they achieved it with zero accidents.

That's proof of the hard work, skill, and commitment to safety shown by this crew every single shift. These men come to work ready to get the job done while also looking out for one another. What makes coal mining special is the brotherhood that comes with it. The guy beside you isn't just a coworker. He's someone you're depending on, someone who's depending on you, and over time those relationships become more like family. Crews like this understand that success comes from working together, having each other's backs, and making sure everyone goes home safe at the end of the day.

We're proud of Chris and every member of this crew for the effort they put in day after day. Keep it going guys! Ya'll are the reason for our success.

🏆 JOY Mining Machinery Coal Miner of the Month 🏆
Congratulations, Tim Stratton!

This month, Excel Mining is proud to recognize Tim Stratton as our JOY Mining Machinery Coal Miner of the Month.

Anyone who has spent much time around Excel knows Tim. Over the years, he has worn a lot of different hats, from underground laborer to supervisory roles and now as one of our Safety Technicians. No matter what position he's held, one thing has remained the same: when something needs done, Tim is usually one of the first people everyone thinks of.

As a Safety Technician, Tim plays an important role in helping keep our miners safe and ensuring we remain compliant with state and federal regulations. But his impact goes far beyond his job title. His years of experience and broad knowledge of mining operations make him a valuable resource for everyone around him. If there's a problem to solve, chances are Tim has either seen it before or will be right there helping figure it out.

What really sets Tim apart is the example he sets for others. He takes pride in doing things the right way, puts safety first, treats people with respect, and consistently delivers quality work.

Tim is respected throughout the operation not only because of what he knows, but because of how he treats people. He gets along with everyone, works well with every department, and carries himself in a way that reflects the values of Excel Mining.

Thank you, Tim, for your hard work, dedication, and years of service to Excel Mining. We appreciate everything you do for this operation and the people who work here.

Congratulations on being named our JOY Mining Machinery Coal Miner of the Month!

100 DAYS. ZERO ACCIDENTS.

That’s something worth celebrating.

Today we’re recognizing an incredible milestone at Excel Mining—100 consecutive days with NO accidents. Not just no lost-time accidents… no accidents, period.

What’s even more impressive is that we accomplished this while continuing to meet and exceed our production goals. That’s a direct reflection of the men who show up every day, work hard, watch out for each other, and refuse to compromise on doing the job the right way.

Our core values say it all:

⛏️ Safety
⛏️ Compliance
⛏️ Production
⛏️ Pride

These aren’t just words to us—they’re the standard we hold ourselves to every shift.

This achievement belongs to every underground miner, every maintenance employee, every foreman, every supervisor, and every member of our support staff. Everyone had a hand in making these 100 days possible.

We couldn’t be more proud of this crew. Mining isn’t just a job, and Excel Mining isn’t just a workplace. It’s a brotherhood. It’s men who have each other’s backs, hold each other accountable, and take pride in doing one of the toughest jobs on earth. We believe we have the best and toughest miners on the planet, and this milestone is proof of what can be accomplished when everyone pulls in the same direction.

A special thank you to everyone who came in early, stayed late, and worked behind the scenes to prepare breakfast and lunch for every shift so we could celebrate this achievement together. Your willingness to serve this team is appreciated more than you know.

Congratulations to every member of the Excel Mining family. Enjoy this accomplishment—you’ve earned it. Then let’s get back to doing what we do best and keep the streak alive.

100 days down. Here’s to the next 100.

⛏️ Safety. Compliance. Production. Pride.
