Fall weather is almost here, which means many of us are heading outside to tackle yardwork.

Before you trim trees or clean up your yard, look up and stay aware of overhead power lines. Keep ladders, poles and tree branches at least 10 feet away from power lines and never attempt to trim vegetation growing near electrical equipment.

You may have seen signs, tree stands, or other items attached to utility poles, but did you know you shouldn’t attach anything to Ozark Border Electric poles at all?

This week, Service Foreman Randy Hager explains why signs, tree stands, nails, screws, staples, and other attachments can create serious safety hazards for our employees when they need to climb or work on a pole.

For the safety of our members and crews, please keep electric poles clear and never attach or hang anything on them. What may seem harmless can become a dangerous obstacle for you and our employees that are working to keep your power on. 💚⚡

One of the best ways to protect yourself from online scams is by using strong passwords. While many people focus on complexity—adding symbols, numbers and capital letters—password length is equally important. A longer password or passphrase is harder for cybercriminals to crack. Create memorable phrases made up of several unrelated words and avoid using personal information like birthdays or pet names.
