Day 1 of State is in the books.

Today was a morning of set up and practice. This afternoon started the first 3 matches for the X teams qualification matches at State. They ended the day 1-2 and ranked 42nd. The competition is tough and high scoring.

Tomorrow, the X team will have 5 more matches and attempt to make the State playoffs, hopefully ending with a ticket to Worlds punched!

Go Patriots!

Jay County Robotics are beyond proud of Brennan and his accomplishment! Congratulations, Brennan! You will do great things in the next chapter of your educational career and beyond.

We are thrilled to announce that JC Jr.-Sr. High senior Brennan Chrisman, the son of Brian and Laurie Chrisman, has been named a National Merit Scholarship Program finalist! Approximately 1.3 million students take the PSAT/NMSQT (National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test) each year. Of these, 16,000 students across the U.S. are named semifinalists. Semifinalists represent the highest-scoring students within their state. After notification, semifinalists complete an application, which must include "a record of consistently very high academic performance in all of grades 9 through 12 and in any college coursework taken"; evidence of having taken "the SAT or ACT and [earning] scores that confirm the PSAT/NMSQT performance that resulted in Semifinalist standing"; and the completion of an essay. Based on Brennan's impressive application, he was selected as one of 15,000 finalists, representing approximately 1% of the students who take the test. As a finalist, Brennan will now be considered for a National Merit Scholarship. Please join us in congratulating Brennan on this exceptional and highly prestigious achievement. Brennan, we are proud of you!

We’ve had a busy semester!

Teams have competed at Concordia and Norwell Saturday events, along with a couple weeks of league! Here are some pictures from the events from this fall.

As of now, all teams are looking competitive and great in league play. League will continue after Christmas break, along with more Saturday events and the Concordia League for high school teams.

We are grateful for The Portland Foundation and their grant program that enabled us to purchase field game sets that are used at our league, along with many other events, including the 2026 Indiana Robotics Championship. Thank you!

Here is to continued success after break! Let’s Go Jay!
