Go Baby Go is the umbrella brand of research/consulting/design group led by Drs. Cole Galloway, Mich

The Go Baby Go (GBG) movement began in 2012, led by Cole Galloway at the University of Delaware. In 2014, GBG Oregon was created through a collaboration between Oregon State University (Sam Logan, PhD) and Oregon Health & Science University (Bethany Sloane, PT, DPT, PhD). Since then, GBG Oregon has grown to include a diverse team of physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech-language pat

hologists, researchers, engineers, and families working together. Go Baby Go is a volunteer- and donation-supported program that helps children with disabilities gain access to adaptive equipment designed for mobility, play, and connection with others. We partner with families, clinicians, and community members to create innovative, affordable, and inclusive solutions. Our work includes modifying ride-on cars for independent mobility, adapting toys and books for accessibility, and customizing assistive technology to meet each child's unique needs. Our mission is to break down barriers and create opportunities for every child to participate, play, and thrive—because accessibility and inclusion are for everyone.

Bring your child’s favorite way to get around—whether it’s a car, walker, Explorer Mini, bike, or wheelchair—and enjoy a space designed for movement and connection. We’ll also have some cars available to try out!

Future OTs in action! Students from Pacific University Occupational Therapy program spent time before Spring break learning about and adapting toys. Many students had their first soldering experience and did an excellent job. Thank you to the Student Occupational Therapy Association for donating the toys and equipment needed for the adaptation!

We’re still looking for volunteers! Please sign up using the QR code on the attached flyer or this link: https://signup.com/go/qvjaKCj. No experience is necessary to volunteer, we will have people available to help show how to use tools and assist with soldering.

When: 12/6/25, Saturday
Time: 9:00AM-4:00PM (there are different times and shifts available; you do not need to attend the whole event)
Where: Community Vision Assistive Technology Lab 2475 SE Ladd Ave, Portland, OR 97214
Food: We will have coffee, beverages, and some snacks/food available during the event
Education: If you are unfamiliar with switch adapted toys and want to learn more, Carrie Luse and Noelle Birky from Community Vision will be providing an educational workshop from 9:00-9:30AM. We are able to provide a continuing education certificate for SLP, PT, and OT’s who attend the morning presentation and toy adaptation session.

Families, it’s that time of year! You can sign up to receive a switch-adapted toy.

What is a switch-adapted toy? A switch-adapted toy is a toy that is adapted so that the small buttons that control the toy are re-routed to a universal port. You can plug a switch into the universal port that can be moved to wherever the child prefers. This may allow a child to more independently play with a toy.
