IF YOU'VE MADE THE TREK through Madras over the past couple years, you've likely been past our special project: the Jefferson Co. Fire & EMS Station. We had a blast partnering with our local firefighters and chiefs for the addition, renovation, and seismic strengthening to their station. The project consisted of 8,800sf of seismic upgrades, 3,800sf of interior renovations, a 6,500sf building addition as well as many exterior modifications and new work. Construction took place while keeping the station fully-operational- which is no small feat for a station of this size. Additionally, through our value engineering efforts during pre-construction we helped the county conserve about $590K in savings while also helping them gain about 400sf of space to the building. This project would not have been as successful without the support of our architectural and engineering partners: 🚒 🔥

This is the time of year that we reflect on all the amazing partners and relationships we continue to make each year. We want to thank you for being part of our story of growth. 2025 was another one for the books at Griffin Construction with milestone projects like the Warm Springs Health & Wellness Center Expansion, and other projects that positively impact our Central Oregon Community like the NeighborImpact Food Distribution Warehouse and the Madras Community Schoolyard. We welcomed new team members to the family, and hired new subcontractors on projects. We look forward to what 2026 holds, and we hope it means a partnership with you.

PROJECT COMPLETION - Every now and then, special partnerships are made. For the Madras Community Schoolyard project, that's exactly what happened. The Jefferson County School District (JCSD509j) and the Trust for Public Land (TPL) came together to create a resource that serves more than just the students at Madras Elementary School, but the neighbors and surrounding community as well. GROUNDBREAKING - It’s with great excitement we announce two new milestone projects for Griffin Construction: The Warm Springs Health & Wellness Center Expansion, and the Art Station.

The Warm Springs Health & Wellness Expansion- This expansion will mark a significant upgrade in medical resources for the community of Warm Springs. This new addition will include more exam rooms, a larger pharmacy, and additional services such as labs, imaging, and more. It was a labor of love to propose on this complicated federal project; we are very honored to have won. We’re partnered with our friends at Steele Associates Architects, along with consultants from AKS Engineering & Forestry, Interface Engineering, Froelich Engineers, and Lensa Consulting. This highly skilled group of experts has been working closely with the project owners at Indian Health Service to perfect this impactful space. We might be biased, but we think this special project may become one of the most beautiful facilities in Warm Springs, complete with blue ‘fish scale’ siding, a tri-teepee exterior display, biophilic elements such as plant walls, mosaic art tiling, and even an interior water feature. Community members from the Health & Wellness Center played a significant role in informing the design of the building. It was important to ensure the elements and themes of the new space incorporated local culture and heritage with references to the Deschutes River, nature, native arts, and teepees.

The Art Station - We love our arts in Central Oregon, and that might be why this Hard Bid project was very competitive, with up to 12 general contractors bidding at one point. The Art Station project is a new 2,600sf building located on the Larkspur Community Center campus in Bend. This new facility will expand the offerings of the Larkspur with space for various art media activities including pottery (with an onsite kiln!). The structure itself will be beautiful with high-end finishes, special art display features, and even custom-carved entry pillars—all designed by Hacker Architects. This will be our 3rd official project for the Bend Park & Recreation District and will go down as yet another super fun recreational project with them. We’re slated to complete the Art Station at the end of next summer. Stay tuned for progress updates and get ready to brush up on your pottery skills in 2026!

We at Griffin Construction are honored to receive the 2025 Building a Better Oregon Award from the Cascades East Association of Realtors. We received the "Greatest Community Improvement" award for our work on the Warm Springs K-8 Academy Classroom Addition project, located in Warm Springs, OR. BBT Architecture and the staff & students of Warm Springs K-8 Academy were a pleasure to partner with on this project. We're pleased our work could bring the community of Warm Springs a facility that fosters cultural enrichment, and provides more space for togetherness & education.

We're pleased to announce the final completion of a small but special project: the Black Butte School Modernization & Addition🏡. This 3,500SF school is nestled in the tall pines of Camp Sherman. Through a passed bond, the community was able to invest in the modernization and 1,750SF addition to the historic school. It was a labor of love to maintain the historic look & feel of the building while infusing modernized elements to ensure a lasting structure capable of serving the children of Black Butte School for many years to come. Great work to our architectural partner , and thank you to the amazing staff & students that allowed us the opportunity to partner with them in building out this special historic schoolhouse.
