We replaced these two mini splits yesterday.
Note how rusty the old wall mount brackets were, we stopped using those cheap steel wall mount brackets some time ago because of the poor quality. Instead we use aluminum brackets.

Today’s job was for a great customer for more than 20 years and was always glad to keep this 1983 equipment running well...

This was the equipment we changed out yesterday, it’s 40 years old and has both original motors, original compressor and both coils are original.
When I started this air-conditioning trade 38 years ago this was the equipment I learned on. It makes me quite dismayed of the quality of today’s equipment, in fact I can’t even imagine if it can get worse. 
We rarely did warranty work back then and now it’s a main part of our business. 
There’s no brand better than the other, it’s all terrible.
