GROW BIG or GOURD HOME!

Think you can grow a prize-winning pumpkin? Georgia 4-H is challenging youth across the state to see who can grow the HEAVIEST pumpkin!

The Georgia 4-H Pumpkin Growing Contest is open to 4-H’ers in Kindergarten–12th grade, so grab some seeds, find a sunny spot, and start growing!

🏆 STATE PRIZES
🥇 1st Place — $100
🥈 2nd Place — $50
🥉 3rd Place — $25

Deadline: Friday, October 23, 2026

Each participant may enter one pumpkin

Pumpkins must be weighed and verified at your local Extension Office

Photos are required for the top three state winners

And the winners will be announced on National Pumpkin Day — October 26!

Growing a pumpkin isn’t just about seeing how BIG you can get it. Along the way, 4-H’ers get hands-on experience with agriculture, plant care, problem solving, measurement, irrigation, insects, patience, and a whole lot more!

So…who thinks they can grow the biggest pumpkin?

FINAL CALL FOR 4-H PHOTOGRAPHERS!

There’s still time to turn your favorite photos into a Georgia 4-H contest entry!

Whether you captured an unforgettable moment at 4-H camp, an agriculture project, a service activity, or another special 4-H experience, we want to make sure our 4-H’ers know about this opportunity!

The 2026 Georgia 4-H Photo Contest is open to 4-H’ers in 4th–12th grade AND adults, with five categories to choose from:

🌱 Agriculture & STEM
🏕️ Camp & Environmental Education
🤝 Citizenship, Leadership & Service
❤️ Healthy Living
🍀 4-H Volunteerism

Enter up to two photos per category
Selected photos receive a $25 award

Winning photos may be featured in Georgia 4-H publications!

Entries are due MONDAY, August 31!

Why 4-H?

Because 4-H is about so much more than learning a new skill.

4-H helps young people discover what they love, build confidence, practice leadership, make connections, and learn by doing. Whether their spark is science, animals, art, cooking, the outdoors, public speaking, or something completely different, there's room to grow in 4-H.

School is back, and so is 4-H!

We're excited for another year of learning, growing, trying new things, and making memories together. From leadership and public speaking to agriculture, STEM, healthy living, and the arts, there's a place for every interest in 4-H.

We can't wait to see what our 4-H'ers accomplish this year!

Great opportunity to grab some needs before school starts! Catoosa Kids Day was a huge success, but we’re not done yet!

Weren't able to make it to Catoosa Kids Day?🎒

Next week you can stop by Monday 7/27 (9 AM - 3PM) & Tuesday - Thursday (7/28-7/30) from (9 AM - 5PM) to pick up a filled backpack at the Catoosa Learning Center (36 Muscogee Trl., Ringgold, GA 30736)
