🎪Every year, we look forward to gathering with friends and family for our annual DAVIS Picnic; this year was no exception🎪

We had a real hoot at the DAVISpalooza! This year, we had a multitude of events and attractions: carnival rides, face painting, zip lines, classic cars, and even a live performance by 80's tribute band The Reagan Years. Whether you're young or old, this year's Picnic had a little something for everyone.

Thank you to everyone who came out to party. Celebrating the people that support our organization has never been so fun!

🙌Whether it's on the track, court, field, or diamond, DAVIS came to play—and all for a great cause🙌

This year's Breakthrough T1D Games was an absolute blast! Our team competed in a ton of different fun events, from team sports like Basketball and Volleyball to more niche activities like Competitive Puzzling and Pool Noodle Javelin. We even took home the Gold for Individual Cycling (shout out Rick Nelligan🏅).

On top of such an exciting day, the Games raised over $600,000 toward funding Type 1 Diabetes Research! Thank you to our very own Suzi Danziger for helping put together such a successful event as Co-Chair. We're proud to do our part toward reaching Type 1 Diabetes cure.

🦴 Who can resist such adorable pups 🦴

Warrior Canine Connection (WCC) is a non-profit who specializes in training, lodging, and placement of service dogs trained to accompany wounded veterans and support their transition into civilian life. In need of a HQ expansive enough to support their mission, our Community + Cultural team stepped up to deliver this gorgeous renovation of a historic dairy barn in Montgomery County, MD. The new training facility, wellness center, food prep area, and veterinary office give WCC the resources and space needed to better the lives of these dogs and our veterans alike.

A second-generation DAVIS employee is celebrating a major milestone—10 years in the industry!

Congratulations to Dagoberto Sorto Ayala Jr. on reaching 10 years with DAVIS! As a kid, he grew up watching his dad dedicate his time to multiple DAVIS jobsites. Now, as a Senior Reality Capture Engineer, he constantly pushes innovation and finds new ways to deliver quality work.

"I would like to thank Ali Patlak, Ricardo Cazon, Shaun Bates and the rest of the Engineering team for being great teachers and leaders when I first came to DAVIS. Additionally, I would like to thank Chris Twilley and the rest of the Reality Capture and Virtual Construction teams for keeping the ball rolling and continuing to teach and learn from each other. Finally, thank you to my father, Dagoberto Ayala. He showed me how to have a good work ethic and taught me that if you want the better things in life and work for them, one day you will make them yours."

A wonderful 48 year era is coming to a close.

As we celebrate and reminisce upon the career of Naresh Kayastha, we'd like to take a second to showcase some of the fond memories that shaped his time with us. Whether it's the gorgeous projects he's been a part of, like the First American Bank and several national monuments, or the smiles he's created along the way, Naresh will be deeply missed at DAVIS.

Tackling international health issues requires an organized effort from everyone involved, including the team based here in the US.

The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO-WHO) helps countries build strong health systems and work together to respond to crises. When they sought an office space that can handle the logistical complexity needed to work towards this mission, they chose DAVIS to get it done. Our Office team—with a history of fitting out and renovating major nonprofit and government spaces in DC—was able to meet their needs, building four upgraded conference rooms to host major meetings between representatives, in addition to upgrades to structural components like panelboards, water pumps, and fan coil units. These functional and aesthetic upgrades ensure that PAHO is able to continue their necessary work helping people across the Americas live longer, healthier lives.

The American Council of Life Insurers needed a new space to deliver accessibility and affordable life insurance for millions of Americans, so they came to the only team that could do it right.

ACLI's new offices consist of both open and private areas, conference and huddle rooms, and amenities like a cafe and central pantry. The curved millwork and high-end finishes help to elevate the new fit out from just another office into the space where employees are happy to come to work every day. In addition to aesthetics, our Office team delivered with upgraded restrooms, new lighting systems, fresh flooring and ceilings, and a complex audiovisual system that connects everyone in the office. With these upgrades, ACLI is able to collaborate in brand new ways, redefining what the in-person work experience can be.

What do you get when you provide community leaders with the resources and knowledge needed to support their community to the upmost ability? You get the opportunity to make a real impact on the lives of your neighbors.

1910 University Senior Housing is the result of a collaborative effort from Mission First Housing Group and a local Wheaton, MD synagogue. In exchange for renovations to existing religious buildings, Congregation Har Tzeon-Agudath Achim sold some unused land to the non-profit developer to construct 90 affordable units geared toward senior living. This partnership provides the congregation with desperately needed repairs while ensuring the adjacent land is used to better the lives of a vulnerable population.

Being a part of meaningful projects like this is just one of the amazing perks of working for DAVIS. If you want to have a deep impact on your community while getting to see great sights like these every day, we're always looking for new talent to help build a better future for our neighbors and beyond.
