Extending an existing UltraFlex induction line into a new automotive vehicle program. Measured!
A Tier-1 automotive supplier needed to stake 13 M6 PEM threaded inserts plus four M6 J-nuts per glass-filled nylon bolster housing at one-second cycle times in an unattended robot cell, with 13 individually addressable recipes from a single supervisory HMI and two PEM insert running on the same power supply, heat station, and coil hardware.
Six lab trials. Three set points per brand. Fixed 1-second cycle, converged on a clean recipe:
- 60% set point seats both brands cleanly at 1-second cycle
- First inserts reach about 393 °C (740 °F) at 3 kW
- Second inserts reach about 371 °C (700 °F) at the same 3 kW, different absorption, equally clean joints

Recommended System: 5 kW induction power supply + water-cooled heat station
The 5 kW System leaves headroom to run faster cycles in the future without changing the heat station or coil envelope.
