Now, at the end of the quarter, they’re reflecting on what they gained through new techniques, creative challenges, and hands-on experience. It’s been exciting to watch their growth and see their ideas come to life throughout the quarter!

It was exciting to celebrate this project and the collaboration behind it alongside members of the community, partners, and supporters. The Rock Island Greenway represents connection, creativity, and the continued impact of bringing art, science, and community together🍀

We recently hosted MicroMuse: Student Art Inspired by Science, an exhibition featuring student artwork created from microscopy images provided by Louisiana Tech research faculty. Students transformed scientific imagery into imaginative and visually compelling works through creativity, experimentation, and artistic interpretation ✨

The exhibition also celebrated our featured student artists and recognized scholarship recipients from the VISTA Center. Thank you to everyone who helped make MicroMuse such a special event!

The VISTA Center provides a communtiy that will support you even when you graduate. Kayla O'Neal, the very first VISTA Center Graduate Assistant, illustrated the January 2026 issue of Bee Culture Magazine. "My time with [the VISTA Center] gave me experience with working with diverse clients which helped with this project." Since her time with the VISTA Center, she has worked with noteable clients including Pfizer, LifeOmic, and Lifeology as a freelance artist and illustrator working in scientific visual communication.
