Dixie Power Reports Full Restoration of Its System Following Countywide Transmission Outage

Arizona members will require a temporary planned outage to return to their normal electrical feed

ST. GEORGE, Utah — 8/28/2026 — Dixie Power has restored 100% of its electrical load following the countywide transmission outage. At this time, every Dixie Power member should have power.

The outage originated on transmission infrastructure outside Dixie Power’s system and affected electric providers throughout Washington County. Dixie Power has not received confirmed information regarding the specific cause of the outage. Because the affected infrastructure is not owned or operated by Dixie Power, the cooperative does not want to speculate or provide information that may be inaccurate.

Restoration of a widespread transmission outage requires careful coordination among electric utilities, generation resources and other partner organizations. At approximately 7:30 p.m., Dixie Power restored limited service to critical facilities, including services that assisted with bringing additional local generation online.

At that stage, Dixie Power had access to approximately 25% of its normal electrical load. Rolling blackouts were temporarily conducted to distribute the available power among members while additional capacity was restored. Different circuits, electrical feeds and rotation schedules resulted in members experiencing different outage and restoration times.

As additional resources became available, Dixie Power increased its available capacity and discontinued rolling blackouts. The cooperative continued to progress from 25% restoration to full restoration while continuing to monitor the system.
Planned Outage for Arizona Members

During the restoration process, portions of Dixie Power’s Arizona service area were temporarily supplied through an alternate electrical feed. A temporary planned outage will be required to safely transition those members back to their normal feed and return the system to its standard operating configuration.

The timing and expected duration of this planned outage are still being finalized. Dixie Power will provide additional information to affected Arizona members once those details have been confirmed.

Members Still Without Power
Every Dixie Power member should currently have service. Members who are still experiencing an outage should report it as soon as possible and should not assume Dixie Power is already aware of the issue. Crews will investigate and address any remaining localized problems.

Members can report an outage by:
Calling 1-866-673-3297
Logging in to their online account
Using the Dixie Power app for Apple or Android
Texting OUT to 844-922-2429

Dixie Power sincerely appreciates the patience and understanding of its members throughout this difficult situation. The cooperative is especially grateful for the employees who worked tirelessly to make the restoration process as safe and orderly as possible, as well as the electric utilities, generation partners and other organizations that worked cooperatively throughout the countywide response.
Dixie Power will continue monitoring its system and will provide additional updates if conditions change.
