Voter's Guide: 11 Days Until the General Election
The 2026 General Election is Tuesday, November 3. With Election Day approaching, we want to remind Nicollet County voters of important deadlines and voting options.
Mail Ballot Precinct Voters:
Some areas of Nicollet County conduct elections entirely by mail, so registered voters automatically receive their ballots instead of voting at a traditional polling place. If you live in one of these precincts, you must return your completed ballot to the Nicollet County Government Center by 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 3.
Absentee Ballot Voters:
If you requested and received an absentee ballot, please complete and return your ballot as soon as possible. You must return your completed ballot to the Nicollet County Government Center by 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 3.
Important Reminder:
Postmarks do not count. Ballots must be physically received by the applicable deadline to be counted, regardless of when they were mailed. Because mail delivery times are unpredictable, we encourage voters to return ballots in person rather than relying on the mail this close to Election Day.
Early In-Person Voting:
Nicollet County residents can vote early in person at the Nicollet County Government Center. During early in-person voting, voters complete their ballots and place them directly into a ballot counter, similar to the process used at polling places on Election Day.
Voting Hours:
* Regular hours: M-F, 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m., through October 30
* Saturday, October 24: 9:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.
* Tuesday, October 27: Extended hours until 7:00 p.m.
* Saturday, October 31: 9:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.
* Sunday, November 1: 9:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.
* Monday, November 2: Extended hours until 5:00 p.m
Please note that only election services will be available during extended hours.
