To Our Florida Customers:
We know people are still rebuilding, still faced with big decisions on whether to keep their home or sell it, still getting all the pieces put back together.
During this time, keep yourself educated. Sadly, we keep getting customers who got scammed after the storms or thought they were getting a deal on their new AC system or repairs, only to have things go wrong with expensive headaches. We are being called out to fix the poor work of others and all of this is costing homeowners and business money they don’t have to spend twice.😣
So what to do?
✅Make sure who you call is licensed and insured. How? Check their credentials on SunBiz.org where their legal business needs to be registered. Then check their license with DBPR. Some try to pass off their business as being legit by using the license of another AC company they “borrow”. But this is not legal in Florida. If you are advertising you are an HVAC business- YOU need to be licensed.
✅ Get an estimate or invoice in writing. It is legally required to put your license number on contracts with your customers. This is the accountably needed to ensure the customer is getting the qualified contractor before they do business. And don’t let it be some chicken scatch on a napkin as a contract (oh yeah, we’ve seen that).
✅Getting your license requires you took the needed exam, you are purchasing the equipment you install legally and honestly, you have all the needed insurances for both the homeowner and contractor’s protection, and bottom line - it shows you are not cheating and lying to the customer.
The idea is to rebuild the awesome community of the Tampa Bay Area, not create more headaches over greed and dishonesty. Whatever contractor you use, empower yourself by making sure you get the legit ones who will give you the service you deserve! ☺️
