Construction is demanding work, physically, mentally, and emotionally. Long hours, pressure, and physical strain all add up. Mental health is part of safety, and when it’s affected, focus and decision-making on the jobsite can suffer.

Supporting mental health starts with simple actions like speaking up when overwhelmed and staying connected. On a Team, it means checking in, starting conversations, and creating space to be honest.
Taking care of mental health is a crucial part of safety.

Electricity is one of the most dangerous jobsite hazards because it’s often invisible until it’s too late.

Electrical incidents can lead to shock, burns, arc flash injuries, or fatalities, especially when safety controls are missed or systems are assumed to be de-energized. Wet conditions, damaged cords, and bypassed safety devices can quickly create serious risk.

Only qualified personnel should perform electrical work. Everyone on site must respect barricades, follow procedures, and verify zero energy before work begins. Awareness and discipline save lives.

Falls remain one of the leading causes of serious injuries and fatalities in construction, and most are preventable with the right protection in place. In today’s National Safety Stand-Down, the focus is simple: identify hazards early, use proper fall protection every time, and never take shortcuts at any height.

Daily inspections, correct ladder setup, scaffold checks, and 100% tie-off are non-negotiable. Work must be planned with fall protection and rescue procedures in place before anyone leaves the ground.

It’s everyone’s responsibility to speak up, stop unsafe work, and look out for one another so everyone goes home safe.

Caught-in/between hazards can occur in seconds with little time to react. Heavy equipment, shifting materials, rotating machinery, and trench work all require constant awareness and strict adherence to safety procedures.

Daily inspections, lockout/tagout procedures, protective systems, and clear communication are critical to keeping crews safe.

Identifying hazards before work begins helps prevent serious incidents and ensures everyone goes home safely.

A moment of distraction can lead to a serious struck-by incident. From moving equipment and suspended loads to flying debris and unsecured materials, these hazards exist on nearly every jobsite.

Thorough equipment inspections and proper PPE remain essential. Jobsite safety depends on awareness, communication, and accountability at every level.
