🚨 HOMEOWNER PSA: Know What You’re Paying For
Your heating and cooling system is one of the biggest investments in your home. Whether you’re replacing equipment, scheduling a repair, or having annual maintenance performed, you should feel comfortable asking questions about the work being done.
Before moving forward with an HVAC project, here are a few things worth asking:
🏠 Are permits required for my project?
Requirements can vary depending on the work being performed and where you live. Ask what permits apply and who will be responsible for obtaining them.
⚡ Who is performing the electrical work?
If your project involves electrical work, ask who will be completing it and what is included in your proposal.
💧 How will condensation and drainage be handled?
Proper condensate drainage matters. Ask how your new equipment will drain and what protections are appropriate for the installation.
🔧 What is actually included in my maintenance?
Not all maintenance services are identical. Ask what your technician will inspect, test, clean, and check during the visit.
📋 What warranties do I have?
Before an installation, understand your equipment, parts, and labor warranty coverage, along with any registration or maintenance requirements that may apply.
💬 What happens if I have questions afterward?
