As our Innovation in Motion journey continues, let’s look at how car windows have gone from manual to modern.

PAST: Car windows were fixed or manually operated using hand cranks and were often made of simple glass that had limited weather sealing.

PRESENT: As vehicles have evolved, we now have power windows with one-touch controls, UV-protective glass, panoramic roofs, and even smart tinting.

FUTURE: We will start to see electrochromic smart glass and voice-activated operation integrated into more and more interiors.

JVIS is proud to share that it has been recognized by Honda with a Supplier Award for Excellence in Value during Honda’s annual Supplier Conference held in Columbus, Ohio, in April 2026.

Honda recognized 56 North American suppliers for outstanding performance in 2025 out of approximately 700 suppliers, and JVIS was honored within the Mass Production Supplier Awards category for Excellence in Value.

This month for our Innovation in Motion series, take a look at how simple bench seating has evolved into a now carefully engineered space designed around comfort, connectivity, and control.

PAST: Early vehicle interiors primarily featured bench seating with minimal adjustability and basic cushioning. Individual driver and passenger seats emerged in the late 1950s.

PRESENT: In today’s vehicles, we enjoy multifunctional center consoles that provide storage, charging, and controls. Seats are adjustable in multiple places, have heating functions, and are made to be durable with comfortable materials.

FUTURE: Vehicles will continue to provide more personalized features that cater to luxury preferences, as well as AI-driven infotainment systems, wireless charging pads, and biometric controls.

Looking ahead, personalized features and AI-driven systems will continue redefining the cabin, turning every drive into a tailored experience.
