Your AC has survived an Arkansas summer… but that doesn’t always mean it’s doing okay. 🥵

By this point in the season, your system has likely been running hard for months. That constant workload can start exposing weak parts and small problems before they turn into a full breakdown.

A few warning signs to watch for:

• Longer run times
• Weak airflow
• Rooms that won’t cool evenly
• Strange noises
• Higher electric bills
• Frequent cycling on and off

Your system doesn’t have to completely stop working for something to be wrong.

If your AC seems like it’s struggling, now is a good time to have it checked before a small issue turns into an emergency repair.

🎉 August Employee of the Month: Josh Bise! 🎉

This month, we’re proud to recognize Josh Bise as Arkansas Air Flow’s Employee of the Month!

Josh is one of the guys behind the scenes who helps keep our jobs moving every single day. Working in our shop, he prepares and fabricates the ductwork our crews take into the field for installation. His work may happen before the duct ever reaches a jobsite, but it plays a huge part in making sure our installations go smoothly.

Josh shows up, works hard, and takes pride in getting the job done right — and we appreciate everything he brings to the AAF team.

👏 Help us congratulate Josh on being our August Employee of the Month!

💧 YES — YOUR AC IS SUPPOSED TO MAKE WATER.

One of the questions we hear in HVAC is: “Why is there water coming from my air conditioner?”

The answer? Your AC doesn’t just cool your home — it also removes humidity from the air.

Here’s what’s happening:
❄️ Warm, humid air from your home is pulled across the cold evaporator coil.
💧 As that air cools, moisture condenses on the coil — similar to the water that forms on the outside of a cold glass on a hot Arkansas day.
⬇️ That water drips into the drain pan and flows out through the condensate drain line.
That part is completely normal.

What’s *not* normal?

🚨 Water around your indoor unit
🚨 Water stains on the ceiling
🚨 A drain pan holding or overflowing with water
🚨 Your AC shutting off because the drain is backed up
🚨 A musty smell around the unit or vents

Those can be signs of a clogged condensate drain, damaged drain pan, drainage issue, or another problem that needs to be checked.

And during an Arkansas summer, your system can remove a surprising amount of moisture from your home's air. That means keeping the condensate drain clear is an important part of routine HVAC maintenance.

🔧 Contractor Tip: If you see water where it normally isn't, don't automatically assume your AC is “leaking refrigant.” Refrigerant and condensate are two completely different things.

Your AC making water = normal.
Your AC putting that water somewhere it shouldn't = time to call your HVAC contractor.
