After two weeks of sweltering St. Louis heat, we gladly celebrated the Marquette Homes groundbreaking this morning with a nice breeze and temperatures in the 70s! Community leaders, Rise, Lutheran Development Group, CORE10 Architecture, and many other friends squeezed onto the sidewalk at 3600 South Grand to officially kick off this 52-unit affordable housing development, which includes renovation of six historic buildings and construction of three new infill homes in the Gravois Park and Dutchtown neighborhoods.

We are thrilled to kick off the $26.3 million Marquette Homes development in South St. Louis with Rise, Lutheran Development Group, CORE10 Architecture, and our subcontractors!

Marquette Homes will include three new infill homes and renovation of six historic buildings, including the prominent Grandview Arcade-Melba Theater building at 3600 South Grand. This diamond in the rough has been vacant way too long, and we are excited to help bring this building back to life as affordable housing and office space for community organizations.

The development will provide 52 much-needed affordable housing units, and we are hopeful these buildings will also serve as anchors in the Gravois Park and Dutchtown neighborhoods, spurring further revitalization efforts. Marquette Homes was many years in the making; thanks to everyone who worked so hard to make this possible!
