"You either choose to keep living or you don't."

Codie Aljets credits his mentality for getting him through the worst of his cancer battle. The toughness he built through adversity growing up became the foundation he leaned on when his body was at its weakest. And when he came out the other side, it completely reshaped how he looked at his life and what he wanted to do with it.

That's what gave him the push to go all in on metal art and build Sage Country Customs. When you've been through something like that, you stop making excuses for why you can't do the thing that actually makes you happy. He bet on himself and never looked back.

But he didn't just keep that mindset to himself. He started hosting what he calls "Man Meetings" at his studio. A space for men to come together, talk about what they're going through, and actually have those conversations that most guys just don't have. No topic is off limits. If you're carrying something, you bring it to the table.

Artists vs. AI — The Great Divide 🤖🎨

Codie Aljets uses rough sketches over AI renderings for a reason. Sure, AI can generate a polished mockup in seconds. But that polished mockup can create a whole new set of problems. A customer sees a hyper-detailed rendering and now they expect that exact color, that exact texture, those exact proportions. And metal doesn't work like a screen.

Codie would rather sketch something loose, keep the idea fluid, and let the piece take shape as he builds it. The second you lock a customer into a pixel-perfect preview of something that doesn't exist yet, you're managing expectations instead of creating art.
