Completed in 2022, the 320 South Canal St. development transformed a key site adjacent to Chicago's historic Union Station into one of the city's most recognizable office towers. Rising more than 50 stories above the West Loop, the project added over 1.5 million square feet of office space while helping redefine the surrounding transit-oriented district.

Zalk Josephs proudly fabricated and delivered 10,723 tons of structural steel for this landmark project, working alongside an exceptional team to bring this vision to life.

We are pleased to spotlight JP Williams and recognize his 12.5-year journey with Zalk Josephs.

Over the course of his career, JP has contributed to more than 150 jobs across the company, beginning as a material handler on the shop floor and growing into his role today as Operations Manager. His growth and leadership reflect both his commitment to continuous improvement and the opportunities available to individuals who are ready to work hard, embrace challenges head on, and take pride in getting the job done.

We engage early—showing up in person, connecting with the right people, and listening closely to what each project truly needs. By working alongside the GC from the start, we help identify constraints, solve logistics challenges, and reduce risk before construction begins.

Early involvement allows us to:
✔ Support smarter logistics and site planning
✔ Shorten the runway to get steel on site faster
✔ Align pricing, sequencing, and constructability upfront

Our Preconstruction team is accessible, hands-on, and fully invested. Using BIM, self-built models, animations, and visual tools, we bring clarity to complex challenges and help teams make confident decisions early.
