GLC recently completed a renovation project for Enterprise Rent-A-Car on Cross County Road in North Charleston.

This project transformed a former shop and storage area into additional office space to better support the needs of their growing branch. The updated layout gives their team more functional workspace while making better use of the existing building footprint.

We’re thankful for the opportunity to help bring this space to completion and support another growing business in the Lowcountry.

Today, we pause to remember and honor the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. 🇺🇸

Memorial Day is a time to reflect on the cost of freedom and to express our gratitude for those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Yesterday, we were proud to celebrate a major milestone at Bonaire Park with the project’s Topping Out event.

A topping out ceremony marks the placement of the final structural beam or highest point of a building’s frame. In construction, it represents an important step forward and a moment to recognize the progress made by everyone helping bring the project to life.

For Bonaire Park, this milestone is a meaningful one. It reflects the hard work of the crews on site, the coordination of many partners, and the continued momentum of a project that will become an important part of historic downtown Summerville.

We’re grateful to be part of it and proud to help mark this moment as the project continues to take shape.

We’d like to extend a special thanks to:

Jeffery Roberts of JJR Development
Becky Collett of Collett Media
Mayor Russ Touchberry
Former Mayor Ricky Waring
Stevie Limehouse of SL Steel LLC

Today at Bonaire Park, our team had the opportunity to host an on-site lunch and raffle for the crews as a small way to say thank you.

In honor of Cinco de Mayo, we brought everyone together for a catered lunch and a time of appreciation for the hard work taking place on this project each day. We’re grateful for the men and women on site who continue moving this project forward and showing up ready to work.

Good work deserves to be recognized, and we were glad to spend part of the day doing just that.

We’re proud to officially share what many in Summerville already know.

Gilbert + Lee Construction is now leading construction on Bonaire Park, a highly anticipated downtown Summerville project.

This is a special project for our team. Bonaire Park is set to become a meaningful addition to the fabric of historic Summerville, and we’re honored to help bring it to life.

Bonaire Park is a mixed-use development in the heart of historic downtown Summerville, designed to bring together luxury residences, retail, dining, and walkable community space in one thoughtfully planned setting. Centered around a pedestrian promenade and gathering areas, the project is designed to become a meaningful part of the downtown experience.

For our team, this is more than just another jobsite. It’s an opportunity to bring experience, care, and steady ex*****on to a project that so many people in the community are excited to see take shape.

We’re grateful for the trust placed in our team, and we look forward to sharing the progress ahead.

🚧 PROJECT UPDATE: Progress continues on the new downtown pavilion at Short Central Avenue and West 2nd North Street.

Site preparation and foundation work are now underway as we get ready for the pavilion structure to begin taking shape. It’s exciting to see steady movement on a project that will create another dedicated gathering space for the Summerville community alongside Hutchinson Square.

As construction continues, local businesses in the Short Central area remain open and accessible. We encourage everyone to continue supporting the shops, restaurants, and businesses that make this part of downtown so special.

We’re grateful to be part of a project that contributes to the continued growth and vitality of historic Summerville, and we look forward to sharing more progress soon.

A look at what’s taking shape in The Meadows. 🚧

Construction is underway on the AMH N Maple Amenity Center, a new community space designed to serve residents with areas for gathering, recreation, and relaxation.

This project includes the amenity center building along with a pool and outdoor area that will become a central feature of the neighborhood once complete. The renderings offer a preview of the finished vision as work continues on site.

We’re proud to help bring this space to life and look forward to sharing more progress as the project moves forward. 🏗️🏊‍♂️

Some time ago, we had the opportunity to help “pretty up” the burn building at the Berkeley County Emergency Services Training Center—a facility that serves as the primary training site for emergency service agencies across Berkeley County.

Training structures like this provide a controlled environment where firefighters and emergency responders can safely practice real-world response scenarios.

In addition, the water tower refurbish associated with this project was completed for South Berkeley Fire District (Pine Ridge Fire).

We’re always proud to contribute to projects that support the people who serve and protect our community every day. 🚒👷‍♂️
