Fresh air, a comfortable place to sit and a commitment to sustainability.

CPChem recently donated a recycled plastic bench to Sweeny Community Hospital for the outdoor area at the new facility. Made from recycled materials, the bench is durable, low maintenance and built to withstand the elements, making it a sustainable addition for patients, visitors and families to enjoy for years to come.

Our shared CPChem and Phillips 66 Emergency Response Team recently completed annual HAZWOPER training, sharpening the skills they rely on during critical situations. Team members practiced working in Level A chemical protective suits, setting up decontamination stations, using AEDs and performing simulated drum repairs.

We're grateful for the dedication, professionalism and commitment of our ERT members, who continuously train to stay ready when they are needed most. 👏

Getting ready for a great school year! ✏️🍎 Our Environmental, Health, Safety & Security team recently volunteered at Sweeny Elementary, helping spruce up the campus atrium before students return. The team raked leaves, trimmed bushes, cleaned the turtle pond and refreshed the turtles' resting areas to help create a welcoming outdoor space for students and staff.

We had a great time welcoming Sweeny ISD teachers and staff back for the new school year at Convocation!

Our team shared coffee and a fun look at the often-overlooked role plastics play in your morning coffee routine. From the coffee container that helps keep coffee fresh and aromatic, to cup liners that help prevent leaks, sugar packets that protect against moisture, creamer bottles that reduce spills and breakage and even stir sticks, plastics help make that first cup of the day possible.

Future scientists, engineers and safety leaders in the making! 👩‍🔬👨‍🔧🚒 Our Bring Your Kids to Work Day continued with a hands-on STEM experience for employee children and grandchildren. From exploring chemical reactions and mechanical engineering concepts to putting their hazard-spotting skills to the test, participants got a fun look at the science and safety practices that power our industry.

The young learners also discovered the importance of personal protective equipment and even practiced using a fire extinguisher through an interactive simulator. We're proud to spark curiosity, build safety awareness and inspire the next generation of STEM professionals.
