Day 12

Today, the guys are mounting the metal roofing on the dock.
This customer went with our most popular roofing color, Burnished Slate and it’s looking great!

Thurman and Nate are installing the flashing in the valley while Devin keeps the crew moving by passing up the pre-cut metal sheets.

Once the main roof was installed, the guys mounted the final corners and finished up the ridge caps to put the finishing touches on the roof.

We’re getting close to the finish line!

Day 10

Day 10 starts with mounting our custom corbels.
Before installation, we sand the 8x8 uprights and the design on each corbel to give everything a smooth, finished look.

Once the corbels are in place, the guys carefully position and lag them into the correct locations. Then it’s time to start building the rafters for the roof!

After the rafters are mounted, we measure and mark each one individually before popping a chalk line for the cut.
This ensures every rafter is cut to the exact length needed for a clean, precise roof structure.

The roof is really starting to take shape!

Day 8

The roof structure is starting to take shape!

Today, the crew lagged our 8x8 uprights into the bottom band, then began framing the top bands for the roof structure.
Each band is securely mounted into the notches of the 8x8s, while we make sure every upright is perfectly straight and properly braced before moving on to the roof joists.

Jeremy cut each joist to the correct length, and then the guys got to work installing them.

We’re getting closer to seeing this roof come together.

Day 7 is done and it was HOT!!

Today, the crew started setting the 8x8 uprights that will support the roof.

Jeremy marks each 8x8 with the correct notch based on its location on the dock, then cuts each notch out with a chainsaw. From there, the guys have to tote these massive 8x8s out to their exact locations on the dock.

And let me tell you… these things are HEAVY!
Getting them moved and set in place is no easy task.

Once each upright is in position, we install temporary braces to hold them in place while we get everything leveled and squared up.

By the end of the day, all of the 8x8s were in position and ready for the next step.

Day 6 was all about sales and progress

Started with a new dock layout/proposal, followed by sales number 1, and plenty of phones calls in between.
I stopped by the job site to check on Jeremy Shaw and the crew.
The guys had already finished trimming and screwing down the decking, so the project is coming together nicely.
Next up, we beging erecting the roof.
