VA OKC Parking Garage: Weekly Construction Update!
Big strides are being made on-site this week as we push closer to completing major milestones. Thanks to some excellent weather, our crews have been firing on all cylinders!
Here is a breakdown of this week's progress:
Slab on Grade (SOG): We successfully made 4 slab on grade concrete pours this week, officially bringing us to 50% completion for this phase!
Electrical & Security: Electricians took full advantage of the clear skies to install critical piping in both the Electrical and Security rooms.
Fire Suppression: Installation is flowing smoothly—the main lines are now 70% installed.
Plumbing: Plumbing piping for the upper-level floor drains is nearing the finish line.
Precast Panels: Grouting of the horizontal joints between structural precast panels is almost done, with the full scope expected to wrap up by mid-week.
👀 Looking Ahead to Next Week
Preparation is key! We held two productive onsite preparatory meetings this week for Structural Steel and Masonry, both of which officially kick off this Monday.
Additionally, our underground utility contractor took delivery of concrete piping and precast manhole structures to hit the ground running on Monday.
🛠️ Around the Site
Exterior waterproofing is officially underway along the East wall.
Our site contractor made massive progress hauling out the spoils pile on the North end, clearing the way for future phases.
A huge thank you to our hard-working crews and the OKC VA community for your continued patience and support as we build a better facility for our Veterans! 🇺🇸
