The video is self-explanatory.. remove any sharp rocks surrounding vour gas line, water line and or drains. Place a minimum of 6 inches of sand followed by native soil, over all of your pipes. Saturate your trench with water and then add moisture to your native soil prior to compaction.

Our gas line inspection interior and exterior house now passed. We will continue putting in all of our underground drainage for our downspouts and our hardscape. All of that will drain into the four bio filtration basins that we have on this property for proper water Management. As stated in the video, gas lines need to be pressurized to 10 to 15 lb and they need to hold that pressure for at least 15 minutes. I hope all of you have a great weekend! Stay safe out there!.

Moving right along on the vineyard project. We will finish putting in all these underground drains and then we will begin our final grading in preparation for hardscape, pool decking and finish landscaping.

This is the way that we prefer to stall polyethylene gas line fittings. We have used the compression fittings many times in the past without problems. However, if you do not install compression fittings correctly they will eventually leak. I use compression fittings as a last resort. Either way whether you are using an iron to heat the pipe or compression fittings you need to do it the correct way. I originally was going to put compression fittings on here because I've never had problems with those but I decided to wait until Jay showed up with his iron. I ordered a new iron for myself but it has not come in yet and my last one was stolen out of the back of my truck. Once you heat this pipe and press these fittings together they are as strong as the pipe itself. We now have this line pressurized to 25 lb. The line only needs to hold 15 lb for inspection which will be happening tomorrow. However it should be able to hold 25 lb no problem if done correctly and even more than that. We do not have the option of putting this gas line in a sleeve because it has a t in the middle so we want to make sure there will be no problems as it will be under concrete. It is also code that you run a tracer wire in the trench with the gas line. I hope all of you have a great day!
