Survey Crew Member

HTC is seeking a motivated survey crew member to support our growing surveying team in team in Napoleonville, LA.

What You'll Do:
🔹Equipment Setup: Transport, assemble, and position surveying instruments such as tripods, total stations, GPS/GNSS receivers, and digital levels
🔹Data Collection & Staking: Hold leveling rods, prism poles, or-grade markers, and help measure distances, angles, and elevations. Clear brush or obstacles from sightlines when necessary
🔹Site Marking: Drive stakes, set iron pins, or paint marks on the ground to designate property boundaries, construction layout or topographic features
🔹Field Notes: keep clear, accurate handwritten notes or digital entries regarding measurements, landmarks, and daily activities
🔹Equipment Maintenance: Clean, pack, and inspect gear daily to ensure tools remain properly calibrated and functional

What You'll Need:
🔹High school diploma or GED required; 1-3 years of field experience preferred
🔹Familiarity with or willingness to learn how to use tools such as Global Positioning System (GPS/GNSS) receivers, total stations, and digital data
🔹Strong teamwork, clear verbal communications, and attention to detail
🔹Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to various locations (limited out of town work)
🔹Ability to work cooperatively outdoors in various weather conditions and to walk long distances over uneven terrain
🔹Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints, site maps, technical drawings, maps and property descriptions

High Tide Consultants LLC is seeking an experienced Survey Technician to support our survey and engineering teams. This role is integral to delivering accurate survey documents and supporting successful project ex*****on.

What You’ll Do:
🔹Create detailed survey drawings, plats, and maps using AutoCAD Civil 3D or related software.
🔹Process field survey data to generate precise topographic and boundary maps.
🔹Collaborate with surveyors and engineers to meet project specifications.
🔹Review and analyze legal descriptions, deeds, and survey field notes.
🔹Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
🔹Manage multiple projects while adhering to deadlines.
🔹Mentor junior drafters or survey technicians when necessary.

What You’ll Need:
🔹Bachelor’s or associate degree in surveying, geomatics, or a related field (preferred).
🔹Minimum 5 years of experience in land survey drafting using AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar software (preferred).
🔹Proficiency in boundary, topographic, and construction surveying principles, including A.L.T.A. and commercial A.L.T.A. surveys with title review experience.
🔹Familiar with creating surface models and contours of existing conditions
🔹Familiar with developing cross sections and calculating quantities
🔹Strong ability to interpret engineering plans, legal descriptions, and survey data.
🔹Excellent communication and organizational skills.
🔹Detail-oriented and able to work independently or as part of a team.

Survey Party Chief

HTC is seeking an experienced and motivated Survey Party Chief to lead field survey operations across a diverse range of projects, including boundary, topographic, and ALTA land surveys.

What You'll Do:
🔹 Lead and supervise field survey crew on a variety of projects including boundary, topographic, and ALTA land surveys. (Experience with Hydrographic Surveys preferred but not required)
🔹 Operate and maintain survey instruments such as robotic total stations, GPS receivers and data collectors.
🔹 Ensure proper data collection, documentation, and quality control of field work
🔹 Interpret and implement project plans, legal documents, and specifications.
🔹 Perform field calculations and communicate data with office staff for processing and drafting.
🔹 Collaborate with project managers and other team members to ensure timely and accurate project delivery.
🔹 Maintain safety standards and protocols in the field.
🔹 Train and mentor junior field staff and crew members.
🔹 Work independently with robotic instruments or GPS equipment to complete survey work.

What you'll Need:
🔹 High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in surveying or a related field preferred.

🎾⭐ Project Spotlight
Hubie Gallagher Park – Tennis Court Replacement | Covington, LA

HTC provided design and engineering services for City of Covington Hubie Gallagher Tennis Courts Replacement Project, as a part of the city’s broader Recreation Facilities Design Assistance Program.

Scope of work included topographic survey of existing tennis courts and surrounding area, followed by the design and preparation of construction plans and specifications for the construction of two new tennis courts.

HTC also updated city specifications, prepared bid documents, and assisted with bidding, including the pre-bid meeting, bid opening, and award process, as well as provided construction administration and resident inspection services.

This project supported the city’s efforts to enhance recreational facilities and provided safe, modern spaces that promote active, healthy lifestyles for the community.

High Tide Consultants is honored to once again support the City of Mandeville’s “Light Up the Lake” Fourth of July Celebration!

As a local engineering and surveying firm, we take great pride in helping build and strengthen the communities we call home. Supporting events like this is just one small way we can give back to a city that has entrusted us with so many meaningful projects over the years.

🌳⭐Project Spotlight
Gramercy Recreation Park | Gramercy, LA

July is – a time to highlight how local parks build strong communities, protect the environment, and improve our health! To celebrate, we’re looking back at the approximately 19-acre recreation park in Gramercy, LA. HTC provided project management as well as master planning services.

The park is located within a dense residential area, experiencing significant pedestrian, bicycle, and vehicular activity and is used heavily for parish sports programs and community events.

The master plan introduced enhancements such as:

🎾 New Pickleball Courts
🛝 Upgraded playground areas with swing sets and additional equipment
🥤Concession area and restrooms
🪧 Improved Park signage, press box, storage building, and other site improvements.

HTC is proud to have worked with St. James Parish and Gramercy Recreation Board on a project that will be enjoyed by the community it was designed for!
