The Novel Bean Small batch custom coffee roasting. Bringing fresh coffee to Southwest Phoenix and the world. I want to prove that to you.

It all started when I was buying expensive coffee and noticing it tasted stale. I discovered that how fresh the coffee is makes much more of a difference than what beans you use. Cheap beans from Columbia or Mexico that were roasted yesterday are SO much better than even Hawaiian beans that have been sitting on the shelf for 6 months.

There is nothing like a batch of coffee fresh out of the roaster. I just added a Peaberry from Papua New Guinea that is really good. I like this more than the Tanzania Peaberry, and that's saying something. Also, in the next few days I'll add an organic Peruvian that is from a region where the farms are 100% woman owned. Kind of a cool story of that area, and a great way to support families that grow your coffee. Oh, and I have a new bag of decaf from Brazil. Not sure yet if I will add that to the web site. If you want some, order the Roaster's Choice and put a note on the order that you want the decaf.

Drinking the last of the Maui Ka’anapali Estate coffee. Let it rest a little longer than normal. This coffee needs to rest for 10-14 days for peak flavor. I’m not buying more for now because it’s pretty expensive. But I wanted to try some. This is the first harvest after the fires wiped out most of the farm’s infrastructure. It tastes like hope.
