Downtown Trinidad Development Group The Downtown Trinidad Development Group was created to engage in commercial development projects to support Trinidad and it's economy.

The Downtown Trinidad Development Group was created to engage in commercial development projects to stimulate the growth of Trinidad, and elevate it to become a vibrant tourist and residential community. Our efforts are designed to act as a catalyst for other critical infrastructure and development by local, county and state government agencies and private investors. We believe that collectively,

with city officials and other developers, Trinidad is poised to become a first class destination embodying the history and resiliency that epitomizes our great state. Our efforts will take advantage of all available incentives and government programming to include, but not limited to: urban renewal, business improvement districts, tax incentive financing, as well as historical preservation and jump-start initiatives.

From Visit Trinidad Colorado:

The best view in Trinidad comes with a little history.

Rising above town, Simpson's Rest has welcomed visitors for generations with panoramic views of the Purgatoire River Valley, fascinating geology, and one of Trinidad's most recognizable landmarks.

Whether you hike to the top or take the scenic drive, it's a stop that's well worth making.

Last Wednesday, we teamed up with Emergent Campus Trinidad for a downtown business walkabout! We spent the afternoon visiting businesses along Main Street and Commercial, sharing upcoming event information and, most importantly, connecting with the people who make our community so special.

We had some great conversations, incredible feedback, and lots of positive energy! We’re excited to keep showing up, listening, and supporting our local businesses.

A BIG thank you to the Emergent Campus team for partnering with us and helping make this walkabout happen! We appreciate everyone who joined us, opened their doors, shared their ideas, and continues to invest in our community. ❤️

The Chamber is here for you, Trinidad! We’ll see you around town! 🏘️💼

The summit trails at Fishers Peak State Park have been cleared to reopen for hiking traffic.

While the Post Fire is still active on Raton Mesa south of the Peak, firefighting efforts and recent rains have contributed to containment, and the Peak is safe to travel.

The reopened trails include the Stone Guard, Peak Approach, and Summit Loop trails. They are open seasonally from August 1st through March 14th.

As always, if you wish to hike the summit, be prepared. The shortest route is still at least 15 miles and over 3,500 feet of elevation gain. Bring lots of water and snacks and always stay on the trail.
