This is not gonna get any better anytime soon.

Home builders are looking everywhere for ways to slash costs. They are finding them in cabinets, faucets and even the garage-door remote.

Builders are opting for cheaper materials and rejiggering designs with cost savings top of mind. Particle-board cabinets are in. Hardwood is out. Countertops are becoming thinner.

Walls now feature smaller and fewer windows. An automatic garage opener is sometimes a frivolous luxury.

The cumulative effect is changing the appearance of newly constructed American homes.

“It kind of looks incomplete,” said Erika Phelan, a real-estate agent at Buyers Broker of Florida.

The cost-cutting is part of an effort to offer more affordable homes when buyers are concerned about high prices, elevated mortgage rates and an uncertain economy.

Still, the approach has left first-time buyers wrestling with how much to give up in exchange for a good deal.

We're all really happy to be part of this project and help out the great people at Hunter's Kitten Lounge and Southern Arizona Car Rescue. It was never a question if we were going to donate our services to these wonderful members of our community.

A little update....
The cats are very un-bothered. Glass repair is underway, a patch is in place for now. More security installed. We raised enough money for the entire deductible we needed and then AZ Construction & Renovation stepped in to fill in the gaps and do the repair ♡
The stresslevel has gone down and we are truly grateful for this supportive community. Its been a rough week for the reacue but its turning around 💕

We are open regular hours all week and have 2 calming events this week (perfect timing tbh). Join us for Kitty Sound Bath on Saturday evening and then Kitty Yoga Sunday evening 🧘‍♀️🐈🧘‍♂️
