Is your furnace struggling to heat?

Try this checklist:
- Clean the chimney (poor draft = poor burn).
- Check the coal bed or wood quality — a shallow coal bed or wet wood can cause issues.
- Make sure all doors and gaskets are sealing tightly.
- Confirm blower or draft fan is working.
- Clean the heat exchanger.

Clear the path for clean combustion!

Every 1–2 weeks, G Series owners should:
- With the firebox door open, open the lower combustion chamber.
- Use the provided tools to scrape ash from the side and rear tubes.
- Collect and dispose of ash in a metal container.
- Ensure all chambers are fully closed before relighting.

Clean chambers = better airflow and higher efficiency

Maximize your heat, minimize your fuel.

The spiral turbulators in your G Series heat exchanger should be cleaned regularly - here’s how:
- Use the EZ Clean Handle (located on the side of your furnace).
- Pull and push the handle aggressively 5–10 times to knock soot off the spirals.

Do this daily or weekly, depending on burn frequency and wood quality.

A full clean should be done at the start or end of every season.

Don’t let ash build-up negatively impact your gasification.
If the ash levels are exceeding the air channel holes in your firebox;
Let the coal bed burn down enough so the air channel is exposed

- OR -

Remove extra charcoal with a shovel and place into a metal container (that you may reuse at a later time) *turn off your unit prior to this step and ensure that the unit is not in a heating cycle.

This will allow for proper gasification because there's proper amounts of air being introduced into the firebox without any blockages, creating better overall performance!

A properly maintained chimney is essential for both performance and safety.
Here’s how to keep it flowing freely:

• Shut down the furnace and let it cool completely.
• From the top or access point, shine a flashlight into the flue.
• Look for buildup: Creosote, sticky residue, tar-like buildup, ash, or soot deposits.
• Use a flexible chimney brush to clean from top to bottom.
• Check the cap for obstructions (leaves, nests, etc.).
• Ensure the chimney extension (if any) is double-wall stainless steel to prevent condensation and blockage.
• Schedule cleanings at least once per season, more if running full-time.
