Congratulations to Senator-Elect James Talarico, who lives with Type 1 Diabetes, on winning his seat in Texas. Talarico has campaigned on as a major part of his healthcare platform, setting the stage for Texans and people all over the country to have another advocate for this issue in Washington. Campaigning for and winning a seat of this magnitude is a massive accomplishment, and it is even more impressive to do so while managing T1D day in and day out.

In honor of the US Grand Prix today, we thought we’d share a bit of cool FRIO history! Our founder, Garnet Wolsey, created a specialized cooling vest for Ferrari driver Michael Schumacher years ago using the same evaporative technology our medication coolers use today! We are honored to continue this legacy and work with several Motorsport drivers and teams across endurance and open wheel racing who advocate for people living with diabetes.

GARRETT MITCHELL IS GOING TO THE WORLD SERIES!

And the Milwaukee Brewers superstar is doing it all with Type 1 Diabetes. Diagnosed at the age of nine, Garrett Mitchell never let his diagnosis or circumstances derail his dreams of playing college or professional baseball. The 28 year old has been a massive part of Milwaukee’s success this postseason, scoring multiple home runs in the NLCS and made a ridiculous catch at the wall to clinch the NLDS against the Padres last week.

The T1D community is incredibly proud of Garrett and his perseverance and can’t wait to cheer the Brewers on to their first World Series win! ⚾️💙
