Last Friday at Safety Week at the North Carolina Museum of History, SPC presented safety awareness training on pneumatic/hydrostatic testing.

Week one of our Steel Class Training is officially in the books!

We’re excited to continue pursuing excellence in our craft while creating the best opportunities for our employees to grow and succeed. Investing in training and development is an investment in the future of our team and the quality of our work.

Safety preparedness alert! Abner Jr. was awarded a gift card for his quick thinking and prompt action while working on the roof. During cutting and grinding operations inside a fireproof tent, roofers had placed an open 5-gallon bucket of glue near the work area. A spark escaped the tent and ignited the contents of the bucket, causing a fire. Abner immediately recognized the danger, grabbed a fire extinguisher, and successfully put out the flames before any injuries or property damage occurred. Thank you Abner for your quick thinking and safety actions!

We had an amazing time hosting a group of students on one of our active jobsites this week! Students from Wayne Community College and Lenoir Community College got a behind-the-scenes look at our active construction site, guided by Styron Wood, Scott Stafford, and several of our superintendents.

At SPC, we’re proud to help inspire and support the next generation of builders. Thank you to the students and both colleges for the opportunity, we loved having you!
