Members of the Sunesis Holdings family and Wonderworks on Wheels participated in the 2026 Flying Pig “PigAbilities” one mile event on Saturday, May 2. This event gives participants and their supporters the chance to run, walk, or roll at their own pace and cross the official Flying Pig Marathon Finish Swine.

SUNESIS ENVIRONMENTAL is on the job at Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. The crew is responsible for the removal of precast concrete panels which are being extracted as full sections and safely rigged and flown via crane to the designated laydown yard. Once relocated these panels are then broken down for proper disposal. This is detailed, tedious work which is progressing in a controlled and efficient manner. Good work TEAM!

Our very own Carlene Østergaard is being recognized for her work in the construction industry!

First up on our Women in Construction spotlights is Carlene Østergaard, of Sunesis Holdings!

Carlene says she got into the construction industry because almost everyone in her family (both men and women!) has worked in or around it, so it just seemed right!

When asked what advice she would give to young girls looking at construction-related careers, Carlene said:
“I would say go for it! There is no better feeling than knowing you are part of the team that shapes the cities and towns we live in. Spend as much time in the field as you can - it begets respect and is incredibly empowering. Employer's biggest role in supporting women is remaining flexible through life's various stages, especially those involving small children and those in dual-career households.”

We’re so proud of Carlene for being such a role model for women in the construction industry!
